MATTHEW B. BOERSEN, CFP®, CFA

I am the Managing Partner of Straight Path Wealth Management. I am proud to have earned both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation and the Chartered Financial Analyst certification. Additionally, I obtained my Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Grand Valley State University.
I currently serve as the Chair of the Board of Directors for the CFP Board, the oversight body of over 100,000 Certified Financial Planners. It is an honor to have been elected as the youngest Chair in the history of the profession. Furthermore, I was recognized as a Top 40 Under 40 Advisor in the country for 2020, and in InvestmentNews 'Hot List 2023', standing out among 99 other CEOs of the largest financial institutions.
I reside in Jenison with my wife, two daughters, and son. In the fall and winter, I thoroughly enjoy watching college football and basketball. During the summertime, I enjoy playing golf with a goal of golfing in all 50 states (although I still have a long way to go!). Throughout my career, I have actively served on various non-profit boards, including a private school and Christian Mission Aid, an NGO that provides healthcare services in South Sudan and Kenya.

I have been with Straight Path Wealth since 2017, where I hold the position of Chief Operating Officer. In this role, I oversee various office activities and ensure smooth operations.
I completed my studies at Cornerstone University, majoring in Finance with a double minor in Management and Economics. With over nine years of experience in the financial industry, I have gained valuable expertise. Additionally, I am an Enrolled Agent (EA) and prepare tax returns for our wealth management clients. EAs are a federally-licensed tax practitioner with specialized knowledge in taxation.
I was born and raised in the West Michigan area and now live in Grandville with my husband Jordan, and our two boys. We cherish spending quality time with our loved ones and friends. During my leisure time, I find great joy in being outdoors, whether it's hiking, biking, running, or simply enjoying the beauty of Lake Michigan.

I joined Straight Path Wealth Management in 2020. I am a Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA) which is a holistic multidisciplinary program focusing on the lifecycle of wealth: accumulation, preservation, and distribution.
With over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry, I specialize in helping clients coordinate their planning to meet their life goals. I believe that part of the planning process is to help clients understand risk and how to keep behavioral biases in check, which can be just as important as investment returns.
I am very passionate about martial arts and strive to live the "martial way." I also am an avid reader and enjoy being outdoors, photography, and spending time with family and friends. My wife and I live in West Michigan.

I joined Straight Path Wealth Management in 2020 and have the unique distinction of being both a CFP® and CPA. This allows me to approach my clients' wealth management needs from a unique and holistic perspective.
After graduating from Calvin University, I spent 5 years in public accounting at a national firm and another 5 years as CFO of a managed healthcare provider. Now, at Straight Path, I leverage my high-level experience and in-depth knowledge to provide innovative solutions to my clients' needs.
Currently, I live in Hudsonville, Michigan, with my wife and four children. I am an active board member at Jehovah Jireh Ministries of West Michigan food pantry and actively involved at Grace Community Church. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, playing board games, mountain biking, and watching my kid's basketball and soccer games.

I attended Grand Valley State University and graduated with degrees in Finance and Accounting. I live in Grandville. I enjoy spending my free time playing golf, exploring hiking trails, trying out new breweries, and watching sports.

I joined Straight Path Wealth Management in 2021 as a Senior Wealth Advisor. I recently concluded a 33-year career at a local office furniture company, where I held various financial positions supporting product development, new business ventures, and dealer distribution. My most recent role involved leading their acquisition and alliance activities. Over the years, I've also worked with a variety of manufacturing companies across industries like pulp and paper, heating and cooling equipment, and technology equipment. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Business Administration, both from Western Michigan University, and I am currently in pursuit of my Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation.
Active in our local community, I've taken on numerous leadership roles within my church, was elected to the Board of Education for a local school district, and served on the Board of Trustees for an elder care organization. My wife and I reside in West Olive and have a blended family of seven children and six grandchildren.

I joined the team at Straight Path Wealth Management in May of 2021 after my graduation from Calvin University, where I received a Bachelor's degree in Financial Planning. At Straight Path, I serve as a Certified Financial Planner™, helping clients achieve their financial goals and feel confident in their retirement. I not only enjoy the numbers side of the business, but have a passion for the personal side and enjoy fostering long-term relationships with the families, individuals, and businesses that we serve.
I live in Holland with my husband, Caleb. Together, we enjoy spending time outdoors, whether boating, hiking, snowmobiling, or playing sports. In addition, we will take any chance to travel and spend time with family and friends.

I am an Enrolled Agent, and I began working for Straight Path in 2019. I handle small business accounting, personal and business tax returns, and 1099’s for our full-service wealth management clients. I graduated from Davenport University, where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. As an Enrolled Agent, I am licensed to represent clients with tax-related issues in front of the IRS.
My favorite aspect of my job is to take away the burden of the day-to-day bookkeeping operations for small businesses, which results in business owners focusing on what they do best! I also enjoy providing training for business owners who utilize QuickBooks® for their accounting needs.
My husband Nathan and I live in Holland and have two young boys. Together, we love spending time in the U.P., seeing local bands play, and enjoying the outdoors.

I have been with the Straight Path Wealth Management team since 2016 and have 25 years of experience serving clients in the financial services industry. My goal is to treat each person as I would like to be treated, and to enjoy the relationships created along the way. In addition to our clients, the office plants depend on me. My alma mater is Calvin University, where I earned my Bachelor's in Business in 1979.
My husband Jim and I live in Grand Rapids and love attending local, live events and places, from the Grand Rapids Symphony to Meijer Gardens to the John Ball Zoo. We have three adult sons and two grandsons. In my free time, I enjoy being with family and friends, gardening, listening to music, playing guitar, reading, yoga, and trying to meet my daily goal of 10,000 steps.

Before joining the Straight Path Wealth Management team, I worked as a Marketing Specialist at a local Real Estate company for three and a half years. Recently, I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from Grand Valley State University, further enhancing my knowledge and expertise in the field.
As the head of marketing and client experience at Straight Path, my main responsibility is to oversee all aspects of marketing strategies and enhance the overall client experience.
As for my personal life, I currently reside in West Olive. In my free time, I cherish moments spent with friends and family, reading, drawing, and traveling.
